3.1 Introduction

3.1.1 Basics

General basis is the optimization model LH1:

 z(x) =   Sum j = 1,...,n cj xj     —>   Max

in compliance with the subconditions

 Sum j = 1,...,n aij xj less-than-or-equal bi  i = 1,...,m

 xj  more than or equal 0,  j = 1,…,n.

First you lay down the affilation functions as follows:

µi (x) :=  open brace 1   for    Sum j = 1,...,n aijxj < bi
 Sum j = 1,...,n aijxj–bi

for   bi  less-than-or-equal Sum j = 1,...,n aijxj  less-than-or-equal bi + betai
